Frequently Asked Questions

How the Image Resizer works

The Infinity Image Resizer turns one picture into as many sizes as you need. Pick a platform such as Instagram or YouTube, tick its sizes (or type your own width and height), then set the crop for each size: Crop to fill covers the whole size and trims what doesn't fit, while Fit keeps the whole picture and fills the gaps with a background. The resizing happens on your device in your browser, so your image is never uploaded.

Example: a 4000 × 3000 photo (4:3) for an Instagram portrait post (1080 × 1350, 4:5). With Crop to fill, the tool keeps a 2400 × 3000 area from the middle, which you can drag left or right, and shrinks it to 0.45 times its size. Saved as a JPG at quality 90, it is ready to post.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The Infinity Image Resizer runs entirely in your browser: the image is cropped and resized on your own device and never sent to us or anyone else. Read more in our Privacy Policy.

Which sizes are included?

The presets cover 33 sizes on eight platforms: Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube (channel icon 800 × 800, banner 2560 × 1440, thumbnail 1280 × 720), TikTok, Pinterest and Threads. They are the commonly recommended sizes as of October 2026. Platforms change them from time to time, so you can also type any width and height under Custom size.

What's the difference between Crop to fill and Fit?

Crop to fill covers the whole size and cuts off what doesn't fit; drag the picture and use Zoom to choose what stays. Fit keeps the whole picture and fills the empty bands with white, black, a colour you pick, or a blurred copy of the image, which suits a wide photo in a tall 1080 × 1920 Story.

Which file formats can I use?

You can open JPG, PNG and WebP images, and most other images your browser can show, such as GIF or AVIF (for an animation, only the first frame). Save each size as JPG (smallest for photos; transparent areas turn white), PNG (lossless, keeps transparency, biggest files) or WebP (small, keeps transparency). The Quality slider for JPG and WebP trades file size for detail, and the tool shows the file size before you download.

What happens if my image is smaller than the size I pick?

It is enlarged to fill the size, which can make it look soft, and the tool tells you when that happens. For a sharper result, enlarge the image first with the Infinity Image Upscaler, then resize it here.

Is the Image Resizer free?

Yes. The Infinity Image Resizer is free, needs no sign-up and adds no watermark. Custom sizes can be up to 8192 pixels on a side and about 16.8 megapixels in total, a limit that keeps the tool working on phones too.
